Somos Magdalena Isaacson Labarthe y Luis Navarro Figueroa, nos reunimos hace más de tres años para explorar desde Velcro Ediciones, el mundo de la publicación de artista. Desde esta práctica cruzamos el documento fotográfico, audiovisual, el diseño y las artes visuales.
Imaginamos nuevos lenguajes que abran reflexiones activas para la creación de una sociedad vinculante, consciente de su medio ambiente y restaurador de su pasado.
Con una marcada herencia artística, Magdalena Isaacson ha empujado su propia carrera en el arte, cruzando diferentes herramientas extraídas de su formación en Santiago de Chile, como el diseño, las artes escénicas, la realización documental y la ecología. Además se ha desempeñado como productora cultural y directora de arte por más de trece años.
Su obra es la suma de diversos gestos. En la escuela de diseño se concentró en el diálogo del espacio y los materiales. Luego desde el teatro gestual amplió el significado de éstos hacia su carácter simbólico-emocional. En el año 2009, fue invitada a participar en la plataforma de surrealismo “El Umbral Secreto”. Ha sido el libro desahuciado la materia prima con la cual se ha relacionado sin restricciones hasta hoy. Actualmente participa del catálogo de difusión que lleva el proyecto Naranja Publicaciones, especializados en la publicación de artistas a nivel mundial.
A los cuatro años de edad Luis Navarro F. emigró junto a su familia a la ciudad de Calbuco, que fue su lugar de adopción e influencia en su trabajo fotográfico. De regreso a Santiago, se tituló como Fotógrafo en el Instituto Profesional Arcos. Desde el año 2002 se ha desempeñado como realizador audiovisual y fotógrafo independiente.
Su trabajo de autor se ha desarrollado entorno al documental fotográfico poniendo acento a temas como las memorias y el patrimonio intangible.
Sus publicaciones más relevantes son “Kallfu” (Fondart 2016) y “Tegualda con Lautaro” (Fondart 2017), fotolibros y cápsulas documentales que reflejan el mapa visual y la cartografía humana como fundamentales en su desarrollo de obra y que lo llevan a experimentar posteriormente, con nuevos soportes y medios, tales como Super 8 mm, material de archivo y digital.
Actualmente empuja su primer largometraje docu-ficción “Gólgota”.
We are Magdalena Isaacson Labarthe and Luis Navarro Figueroa, we met more than three years ago to explore from Velcro Ediciones, the world of artist publishing. From this practice we cross the photographic and audiovisual document, design and the visual arts.
We imagine new languages that open active reflections for the creation of a binding society, aware of its environment and restorer of its past.
With a marked artistic heritage, Magdalena Isaacson has launched her own career in art, crossing different tools extracted from her training in Santiago de Chile, such as design, performing arts, documentary production and ecology. In addition, she has worked as a cultural producer and art director for more than thirteen years.
Her work is the sum of various gestures. In design school she concentrated on the dialogue of space and materials. Then from the gestural theater she expanded the meaning of these towards their symbolic-emotional character. In 2009, she was invited to participate in the surrealism platform “El Umbral Secreto” (The Secret Threshold). The book has been evicted the raw material with which she has been related without restrictions until today. She currently participates in the diffusion catalog run by the Naranja Publicaciones project, specialized in the publication of artists worldwide.
At the age of four, Luis Navarro F. immigrated with his family to the city of Calbuco, which was his place of adoption and influence in his photographic work. Back in Santiago, he graduated as a Photographer at the Arcos Professional Institute. Since 2002, he has worked as an audiovisual producer and freelance photographer.
His authorship work has been developed around the photographic documentary, emphasizing themes such as memories and intangible heritage.
His most relevant publications are "Kallfu" (Fondart 2016) and "Tegualda con Lautaro" (Fondart 2017), photo-books and documentary capsules that reflect the visual map and human cartography as fundamental in his development of work and that lead him to experiment later, with new media and support, such as Super 8mm, archival and digital material. He is currently pushing his first documentary-fiction feature “Gólgota”. (Golgotha).
